Bad Dog is a piece conceived from playfulness, humor, and gentle irreverence. A small scene that, without the need for grand speeches, functions as a direct nod to the viewer: a
breath of fresh air within the body of work, where irony and comedy find their place without ever losing their elegance.
The main character—a small dog modeled in bronze, reduced to its bare essence—rests on a solid base of rusted iron, creating a deliberate contrast between the
delicacy of the forms and the roughness of the material. Next to it, an all-too-obvious "souvenir" completes the scene, adding a slightly vulgar touch that, far from being crude,
becomes complicity thanks to the balance between composition, noble materials, and soft, friendly modeling.
Bad Dog does not seek to convey a profound message or hidden symbolism: its intention is as simple as it is effective—to elicit a smile, to dismantle the usual seriousness of art, and to remind us that there is also room for lightness, playfulness, and surprise.
