Description
Title: Kids With
Three bronze figures stand on an iron base, each with a head that replaces the face with a symbol of the contemporary world.
The first, with a fully closed helmet, embodies voluntary disconnection: a figure living in its own bubble, isolated from outside noise.
At the centre, the figure with the television head reflects how our perception of the world is filtered and shaped by the media and screens we consume every day.
The third figure wears a gas mask, becoming a metaphor for the instinct to protect oneself from an environment we feel to be polluted or toxic.
“Kids With” is a piece that engages with overexposure, hypermediation and the psychological defences of modern life, using the child's body as a symbol of vulnerability and
future.
